Wines for Your Barbecue

Vielen Dank, Ewald, fur einen erfolgreichen Wein tasing!  Ewald Moseler took us on a virtual trip, via Power Point, to the vineyards of Germany and Austria and some truly lovely wines.  And Chef Tim, having lived in Germany for a time, expertly paired the wines with his delicious food preparations.  His Tamirand Glazed Pork Tenderloin was wonderful, and I simply can't get enough of his House-Made Venison Sausage.

    

The July 20th seminar, "Wines for Your Barbecue",  will take advantage of the summer outdoor cooking season and will feature wines to complement your barbecue creations.  The wines we will be pouring are fruit-forward yet hearty enough to stand up to barbecue fare.  We will be pouring three flights of two wines each:  a California Roussanne/Marsanne/Viognier blend with a French Rose, a Dry Creek Zinfandel with an Italian Barbera, and a Chilean Carmenere with a French Cotes du Rhone.  These are wines that are meant to be enjoyed now and are easy on the budget.  Dennis Sienko of Bend Wine Cellar will guide us through the wines, and Chef Tim will create some delectable complementary dishes.

 

We will meet on Monday, July 20, from 4:00-6:00, at Jackalope Grill.  The cost is $45.

 

To facilitate making your reservation for the July 20th WTW Seminar, we will be accepting credit cards as well as cash or checks (made out to “Women Tasting Wine.”)  You can drop off your check at Bend Wine Cellar Thursday or Saturday from 2:00-5:00.  (Stop by Saturday and enjoy a complimentary wine tasting.)  You can also call Diane (388-7564) with your credit card information. We need to have our final numbers in on the Thursday before the event for the purpose of ordering the food, so payment needs to be received by Thursday, July 16.

 

Remember, reservations are on a first come, first served basis and your payment is your reservation.  Since we have to have our “head count” in by Thursday morning, there will be no refunds for cancellations after 9:00 AM Thursday, July 16, or for no-shows on the day of the seminar.
